Pure Motivation

On Thursday, Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, announced to the press that his online encyclopedia is losing volunteer contributors. Famous for being a free and highly accurate source of information, Wikipedia is the product of motivation. Indeed, since its inception ten years ago until today, it has relied on a dedicated army of people who have believed in its purpose and worked hard towards helping it grow to become one of the most visited websites on the internet by virtue of being one of the best encyclopedias ever.

So is the falloff of volunteers a sign of Wikipedia's demise? Probably not. However, it makes me wonder what it could do to recruit, or motivate, a new generation of contributors.
